Looky in my Lunchbox Linky Party! :)

Now THIS is my kind of party! I love bags... LOTS of them...most with a monogram {I am a good Southern girl!} I also really love food! Like, really, really love it! As my sister says, "Nom, nom, nom!"

Here is my lunch bag:
I really like the new Vera lunch bag because it fits a Tupperware container! I LOVE to take leftovers about 2 or 3 days a week! I am counting my calories on the MyFitness Pal app on my iPhone, so I love that the calories have already been calculated for the meal the night before, and I just enter it again for lunch the next day! SCORE!

The other days, I will take a Lean Cuisine, or a salad. I also love egg salad in a pita with some fruit on the side! YUM! I have a Pinterest board {Lovely Lunches} that I love to pin to...but let's be serious, I have not made any of those yet! BUT I have made some dinners from Pinterest and this was one of my faves:

DELISH!!! It is basically spinach and artichoke dip over pasta! How does that sound???? It has light cream cheese so it isn't too high on the calorie count! It heats up really well the next day! I am suddenly starving...which is unfortunate because I already ate dinner!

Now...onto the actual lunch time! My class eats at 11:05 am, which is a good, normal time! I eat with my kiddos in the lunchroom. Well, let me be specific, I eat at the teacher table in the lunchroom, which is directly next to my class table! I spend the 30 minutes directing them through the lunch line, making sure they type their lunch number on the keypad correctly, opening ketchup packets, peeling applesauce and pudding tops off, and raising my eyebrows {which is giving me severe wrinkles, by the way!} to redirect their behavior from the teacher table. I have about 15 - 20 minutes to sit down and eat, and then it's time to get my kiddos to clean off our tables and throw everything away. I have to say, this was the HARDEST part of my day when I moved to my new school from Georgia. We had a 30 minute duty free lunch every day there. It was a bit of a culture shock at first, but now I don't really notice it much! HA! The positive is that I get to see and catch up with my old grade level Kinder friends!

Join in the party! :) Link up with Tara at 4th Grade Frolics!

Roll and Graph Freebie

Happy Hump Day, friends! My hubs and I just returned from a little three day trip to New Orleans! We had a blast! I had never been, and Jeff had only been during Mardi Gras back in the college days..so ya know…he didn’t see the REST of NOLA! HA! We ate yummy beignets at Café du Monde, stopped at Pat O’s for a Hurricane and ate the most delicious oysters OF MY LIFE at Le Bayou on Bourbon. Jeff was in live music heaven and I was in Bananas Foster French Toast heaven. Did you hear me???? I said BANANA. FOSTERS. FRENCH. TOAST. It was a party in my mouth. Seriously, one of the best dishes ever and it was at a cute little café called The Ruby Slipper {named for their homecoming and the feeling of there’s no place like home after Hurricane Katrina!} LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

I know, I know…that little paragraph had NOTHING to do with a Roll and Graph freebie! But I am on Spring Break, so I am a bit out of focus when it comes to school! :)

I have been loving on Roll and Graphs lately! My kiddos gasp every time I get the dice out {or more like, “Look look, she is getting the dice out!!!” in a frantic whisper voice}… THIS is why I teach the little ones…so easy to please! :)  I guess they know SOME sort of game is right around the corner!

During our Math Menu, we have a Data Detective choice every week. I try to do Roll and Graphs in this choice about twice a month!

I have included a Roll and Graph with my most recent Old Lady units:

Since I couldn’t GET OVER the cuteness of Denyse’s Smores graphics after creating this:

smores

I HAD to make a Roll and Graph with those cuties! You could use this Roll and Graph the week you study r-controlled /o/, during a camping unit, or really any time, because those little smores are PRESH! :)

All you need is a tissue box for the dice, or these handy little pocket cubes {I got mine at The School Box, but you can order from Amazon} that I have had since my very first year of teaching:

Is Modern Family new tonight??? I sure hope so! Happy Spring, y’all!

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick!

I HEART chicks!!! Everything about them is so presh to me! Their fuzzy little feathers, cute little beaks, and the fact that they mean Easter is right around the corner! My hubs is OBSESSED with the SweetTart Chicks, Ducks, and Bunnies…I have to start buying them in bulk to last him throughout the year! When I saw them at Target a few weeks ago, I knew it was time to email Denyse at Scrappin Doodles! :)

I had so much fun making the latest Old Lady unit! Denyse worked her magic yet again and is always so sweet and patient when creating custom graphics! I am SO glad she agreed to draw these great graphics…I think they match the story perfectly!
